Bringing It Home,The Hard Way.
It was definitely an up and down day for Jake Perkins Motorsports at New Smyrna Speedway last Saturday. The day started with a transmission problem before even hitting the track for one practice lap. After hours of work, replacing the clutch and finally getting on the track, there were three minutes left in the practice period.
Jimmy Cope and the crew continued to work on the car until qualifying time with little input as to set up and how the car would react to the track. After qualifying tenth and running 100 laps with no cautions, we kept the car in one piece and came home a very respectable sixth.
Thanks to all our fans, supporters and sponsors and hope to see you all at Desoto Speedway in Bradenton in two weeks.
